Description

A Victron based solar PV system installed at the RBZ premises to cater for the essential loads which include office and corridor lights, security lights, computers and the server room. The 29.4kWp solar panels that produce an average of 176.4kWh of energy per day are mounted on dip galvanized steel structures that are imported from China. The structure for the RBZ sports Club in Mabelreign was made into a carport structure so that it could provide shade for the cars parked under the structure. Each of the PV systems has 3 x 10kVA Victron Quattro Inverters that are wired in parallel to give a 3 Phase energy output for the loads. Both the systems are programmed and wired to the Power Distribution Boards of the buildings such that the solar PV Power provides electricity to the building as the primary power source. A standby generator will provide power to the loads only when the PV power is insufficient, grid power is unavailable, and the 38.4 kWh battery has run flat.
